The gastronomy of Tuineje is based on the products of the town and fresh fish from its coastline. Traditional local fish species include vieja, horse mackerel, Sama and salted fish, which are likely to be served roast or fried.
The meat specialties of Fuerteventura include roast baifo and marinated or roasted pork. There are also the famous Canary Islands specialties such as the papas arrugadas, Canary Islands stew and the mojos (sauces).
