Sports

The natural conditions of the Pájara town make it suitable to enjoy any outdoor activity, during days or nights. May the activity be water sports, hiking, bicycling or trekking, there are different natural areas to choose from.

Wind Surfing
The Beaches of Jandia offers the perfect sea conditions for practicing windsurfing. Because both beginners and professionals are satisfied, several courses of water sports are available at the beach.

Since 1985, during the month of July, the Beach of Leeward hosts the annual Professional Windsurfing World Championships.

Native Sports
There are two traditional sports, which have been practiced by the native Fuerteventurian for years - the canary fight and the game of the wood. The Pájara municipality takes care of their football teams, basketball players and other athletes to participate in the divisions and national championships of each sport.
