Excursions

A day trip to the Pico de la Zarza.

If you wish to explore the nearby attractions in Jandia, you may visit the capital city of Puerto del Rosario , explore the old villages, or take a nature trip within the península.

If you wish to do the latter, hiking up to the Pico de Jandía is a perfect adventure that will make you appreciate the natural beauty of Jandía Península.

The Pico de la Zarza is the highest mountain in Fuerteventura with a height of 807 meters. On your way to the peak, after passing the Hotel Barcelo and Water Treatment Plant, you will have a clear view of the new Morro Jable golf course that is nestled between Jandia hills.

To your right are perfect views of the Costa Calma windmills and the picturesque view of Morro Jable.

After three hours of walking into the dirt track road, you will observe that the path becomes steeper and filled abundant shrubs and plants. This means you are getting closer to the peak.

Finally, at the top of the mountain, you will be welcomed with astonishing views of the Villa Winter, Cofete Beaches and the entire Jandia Peninsula. During days when the skies are clear, the view from other islands can also be seen.
